On Tuesday, German wind turbine maker Nordex SE said it has secured an order from regular customer Wpd AG to supply 47 MW of turbines for a wind farm in Sweden.
The German company has ordered eight N163/5.X turbines for the Stollsaterberget project, inhabited between the Varmland and Dalarna provinces in western Sweden, near to the Norwegian border.
The cold climate version of the turbines will be delivered featuring the Nordex Advanced Anti-Icing system for the rotor blades. According to the reports, their installation will begin in the summer of 2023.
A 15-year service agreement with the possibility for a five-year extension is also included in the contract.
According to the Nordex chief sales officer Patxi Landa this is the third order from Wpd for the company’s N163/5.X turbines in the Nordic countries. Nordex is also providing turbines for Wpd’s 188-MW Karhunnevankangas and 96.9-MW Nuolivaara projects in Finland.
